DEVELOPMENT OF PROCEDURES FOR THE APPLICATION OF EDUCATIONAL ROBOTICS IN STEM PROJECTS

The use of new technologies currently have a greater growth and application, such as robotics applied in education that allows students to develop their analytical ability to solve problems. Educational Robotics has been considered as a teaching-learning strategy for science and mathematics, influencing the development of applications such as LEGO Industry. LEGO Education through its kits proposes that students and teachers can build models with sensors and motors that connect to computers, in addition to being able to program in a simple and fun way to encourage interest in robotics. This article analyzes the application of Educational Robotics to students of level 1 (children 8-10 years old) level called "Learn and Play" of the teaching center "Educational Robotics: Create, Learn and Play", in the city of Riobamba - Ecuador, from the use of LEGO Mindstorms Education EV3, which allows the implementation of science (S), technology (T), engineering (E) and mathematics (M) STEM projects. For the development of the research, a pre-experimental quantitative study is carried out, which will be applied to a group of 10 people, measuring variables such as the number of errors and number of successes, being the objective to establish the procedures and instruments to apply this teaching-learning strategy, whose purpose corresponds to the application of such didactic strategies that allow students to develop their creativity through play and learning by building any robot model and program it according to their imagination, that is, building their own knowledge. As preliminary results, it is proved that robotics has great acceptance among children, mainly in activities that represent challenges.
